Ballintoy Harbour 70ft fall man ‘secure’ in hospital (News)

A person who fell 70ft onto the rocks at Ballintoy Harbour in Co Antrim is in a secure situation in hospital.

The incident occurred at round 6.30pm on Thursday. It was reported the person had been strolling with a buddy when he fell from Elephant Rock.

Ballycastle and Coleraine Coastguard groups together with the lifeboat from Portrush attended the scene to assist in the rescue.

The person was described as acutely aware and respiration when medics reached the scene.

He was taken by Air Ambulance to Royal Victoria Hospital.

On Friday afternoon a spokesman for the Belfast Belief stated the affected person was in a secure situation in hospital.
