Jonathan King was accused of assaulting teenage boys

DJ Jonathan King has slammed an apology from Surrey Police after the collapse of his trial in June.

King, 73, had denied 23 critical sexual assault fees in opposition to teenage boys, between 1970 and 1988 and was advised he is not going to face a retrial.

Surrey Police is commissioning an impartial evaluate of the investigation into the allegations.

After King’s trial collapsed in June, Surrey Police apologised for critical failings in its investigation saying: “We deeply remorse that regardless of these efforts we didn’t meet the required requirements to make sure a good trial.”
