The College of Arithmetic formally welcomed one among our personal, Professor Oliver Jensen, as the brand new Head of College on Friday, 27 July.

We additionally expressed our appreciation and due to Professor Peter Duck, who’s stepping down after ten profitable years because the Head of College to embark on a sabbatical – throughout which he’ll go to Australia, New Zealand, the USA and Mauritius.

Oliver stated: ”I’m honoured to be beginning as Head of the College of Arithmetic. I joined the College in 2012, as Sir Horace Lamb Professor. Many college students and up to date alumni will know me from the first-year Calculus and Vectors course that I taught over the previous six years. My analysis is in utilized arithmetic, primarily referring to mechanics and transport issues in biology and medication.

“I look ahead to persevering with my educating and analysis alongside my new duties.
