Man falls 70ft onto rocks at Northern Eire harbour (News)


A person has fallen 70ft onto the rocks at Ballintoy Harbour in Co Antrim.

It occurred round 6.30pm on Thursday. The person had been strolling with a good friend when he fell from Elephant Rock.

Ballycastle and Coleraine Coastguard groups together with the lifeboat from Portrush attended the scene to assist in the rescue.

The casualty was taken from the rocks by the lifeboat the place he was stablised earlier than being taken to the shore.

The Ambulance service despatched a speedy response crew and an A&E crew to the scene.

The charity Air Ambulance was additionally scrambled to the scene.
