British novelist Sir VS Naipaul, who received the Nobel Prize for Literature, has died at his dwelling in London aged 85, his household have stated.

Sir Vidia, who was born in rural Trinidad in 1932, was recognized for works together with A Bend within the River and his masterpiece, A Home for Mr Biswas.

He received the Booker Prize in 1971 and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2001.

His spouse Woman Naipaul referred to as him a “big in all that he achieved”.

She stated he died “surrounded by these he cherished having lived a life which was filled with great creativity and endeavour”.

Sir Vidia, who as a baby was learn Shakespeare and Dickens by his father, attended Oxford College in 1950 after profitable a authorities scholarship giving him entry into any Commonwealth college of his selecting.

As a scholar, he struggled with despair and tried suicide.

His first e-book, The Mystic Masseur, was revealed in 1951. His most celebrated novel, A Home for Mr Biswas, took over three years to write down and was revealed a decade later.
